Week 24

It’s been an exciting couple of weeks… I moved, started work and got established with all the things…

Pixies Farewell to our apartment
Pixie was highly affronted that she couldn’t re-scent the entire apartment before we left. Carpets cleaned even though Seasons at Orchard Hills still charged us a carpet cleaning fee which personally I found insulting. I even swept out the garage and patched all the holes.

Pixie and I drove out to Pittsburgh together. It was an interesting trip, she spent the time waffling between wanting to sit in my lap while I drove and caving at the top of the tower of stuff I had packed into the back of the 4Runner. I spent the entire 4th of July weekend unpacking and getting set up.

My Co-Fellow
My co-fellow Bernice and I went for lunch at this little place we found as our lunch plans got cancelled 🙂 we had a blast, got to know each other and made plans to grill out on the 4th together.

PA license finally came in
While the Pennsylvania license finally came in, a whole new headache called credentialing with the hospital is still underway, more on this later as I navigate through this lengthly and painful process of repeatedly sending the same files to people which they do nothing with and then ask for again.

Sunrise
One of the reasons I picked this place was the view… you all know i can put up with almost anything if I have a little piece of serenity with me. This is what I see when I am making my breakfast every morning.

First day on 4G, the Neuro-Trauma ICU
So excited to be starting on this unit. While I can’t really “do” anything due to not being credentialed, there are still tons of opportunities to learn. I’ll be working with Fellows, Residents, APPs and Attending Physicians.

And in perfect form for me… the AC is out
I feel like this happens at every place I go to. I’m here a week (though usually it takes a year for this to occur) and now the AC is out… such is life, the challenge now is getting someone out to fix it!
